This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
Not to my knowledge; I go on PK's oekaki if that helps with familiarity. (Or do you just say that because you were creeped out at the adoration part D: )
No, I'm not angry at all. I'm just amused she goes into chat and raves about her sex life like anyone cares.
And I didn't give "vague handwaving". I provided specific examples. Sorry I'm not a technical artist with a degree under my belt to describe the exact degrees and line strokes, but neither is PK, so meh. If she was a real artist she would be able to take my comments and apply them to her supposed knowledge. But apparently she can't and has to be led step-by-step.
Er, where does she do that? What does it have to do with her art? And if you don't like it then why didn't you just ask her to stop?
And, no, you didn't provide specific examples of anything. "Your proportions are all wrong"? Which proportions? What pictures? "The work is blurry"? What work is blurry? Was it even intended to be crisp and cartoony? I'm looking at her recent work; three have crisp lines, and the fourth is a painterly style. "Too much grey"which pictures, what colors are too gray? Again, three of her recent works are extremely vibrant, and the fourth was in a dim forest. "Boring", well, er, I'm not sure what you want. At a glance, a lot of your favorites are just a character or two in a casual pose.
I don't think any "real" artist would find much use in the same sort of comments, because a "real" artist is already looking to avoid those kinds of mistakes. If she didn't notice a problem the first time around, saying "there's still a problem" and nothing more isn't going to help. Your criticism reminds me of some I've had on software I've written, like "it's confusing". Well, okay, that sucks that you think that, but what am I supposed to do about it? I already wrote the software trying to make it not confusing. Just telling me I failed at that doesn't help; I've been looking for confusing things the whole time and not found any. Point out what you mean! Don't expect me to read your mind. Obviously you think differently from me, or the problems you're noticing wouldn't exist in the first place. Useful criticism looks more like this.

oh god how did this get here I am not good with computer
She does that in the DA chatroom, and I can't tell her to stop because she'll keep doing it. She gets a lot of complaints.
Okay, let me make this clear for you. ALL the proportions are wrong. ALL her work that is even slightly colored is blurry. There's too much gray in ALL her work. It's the color choicing she uses. And when did I say her work was "boring"?
And I don't always favorite things I like. I've favorited a few pieces of PK's, for example, but I don't like them. I just like the subject matter, even though her means of pulling it off is technically lacking.
Your logic is severely... Wrong. You're sitting there telling me that I shouldn't critique anyones work, because "they already looked for what was wrong with it and didn't find it". An artist should be willing to take criticism instead of bitch about how "vague" it is, when I made it clear I speaking in generalities. PK is not a good artist, and is a bitch as well as attention-seeker. People suck up to her when I know, and am friends with, professional artists and animators that make her look like she's scratching with a broken crayon.
And her critiques are kind of bloated. First of all, she's "critiquing" works that clearly doesn't deserve it and is mostly saying what she likes instead of what needs improvement on. When she is suggesting anything, it's rather obvious and, guess what? Vague.
You are quite delusional. I never waste my time with dA chats.
You are still not clear at all. You are not providing any specific examples to any of my works for problems within, instead making a general remark and pretending that it applies universally (yes, which would be considered vague). I'm afraid you're not clear about what you mean when you say "blurry" as you have only said that it is without even being able to so much as point out an example on a picture. The same goes for the gray remark. I don't think you really understand how color works at all; anyone with any knowledge of color would be able to tell that I actively avoid using too many grayed out colors. Only a fool would completely ignore unsaturated tones, however, if they wished to explore the spectrum of color.
Previously your comment was that you did not like subject matter of art I drew; now it is that you have faved some work just because of the subject matter. You should really make up your mind.
Your comment on my piece was in no way useful. You could not point out anything specific about a particular piece--and when I say specific, I don't mean "it's blurry it's gray and the proportions are wrong." Can you not even begin to understand how that is not helpful in the slightest? What parts are blurry? Which parts of the picture are too gray to you? What proportions of what pieces? Sorry but until you can answer those questions, you have left me something I cannot even begin to decipher.
I can take criticism, as that is what I do in each of my classes. At my school, every class is rigorous and criticism is given quite honestly and harshly. You take it and learn from it. Before you go questioning the credentials of my school, it is one of the most highly reputable art schools in the U.S. and I am among the top percent of the undergraduates. My professors commended me for my good works and gave me insightful criticism to make it even better. I excelled in every class. You do not really have a grasp of technical skill or what that concept even means. Given that you still cannot provide a specific example relating to one of my pieces, forgive me if I have no intention of caring about your "critique" until you are able to do so.
I think I have some experience in what is useful criticism; yours was nowhere near being as good as some of the worst critiques I've heard from the lousiest students.
You would have no idea about my personality. Seeing as you seem to be going off of non-existent chatroom excursions, I would say that is not good grounds for judging one's character. I do not care for attention seekers, which makes your claim quite irksome. It seems you have some sort of grudge against me for things you cannot even name. It'd be real nice if you could actually, you know, provide a grounds for the basis of your claims.
So, please. Stop making up bullshit. When you have something useful to say, I'll read it. I can sift the shit from the gems; what you fed me was utter shit.
For someone that blocked me on her own page, you seems to have taken this quite personally. Honestly, you following me to a completely different conversation with someone else speaks quite clearly your own bullshit.
but ummmmmmmm do I know you
